All about the Guys Blog Hop!

For today's projects I have made a stack of cards to keep in my stash for any boy (or man!). I tried to keep them fun and creative. My inspiration came from my Just 4 Men stamps set from Pink By Design!  

To help keep the length of this post down, I will only give a few details on each project. :) 

•  I used a A2 card base for this card. 
• I cut the shark at 4 inches and is from Life is a beach Cricut Cartridge

• Magnet is cut at 2 inches, and the Chick is cut at 5 inches and are from Just Because Cards Cricut Cartridge. (magnet is really a U with the bottom part trimmed to be straight!)

•  A2 cardbase
• Dumptruck is cut at 3inches and is from Boy's will be Boy's Cricut Cartridge

•  A2 card base
• Wave is cut at 2 inches and the shorts are cut at 2.5 inches, they both are from Life is a Beach Cricut Cartridge   

• Cardbase came from the dollar bins at Michael's 
• Fish w/ pole is cut at 4 inches and is from Boy's will be Boy's Cricut Cartridge

Would you guess Wednesday!

Hi Everyone! Today is Would you Guess Wednesday over at My Cricut Craft Room. WYGW is where we only use cuts that are from the "layers" part of a cartridge. If you open a cartridge book and look at the available cuts, we can only use the items on the right, not the main cuts.

For my birthday in early August, we went to the Zoo! We had a ton of fun seeing all the animals, and I got some really cute pictures! I am putting together a scrapbook for my son with the pictures and animals and here are 2 of the pages!

Items used:

• Yellow, brown and green cardstock
• patterned paper

• Nate's ABC's Cricut Cartridge
• Pictures

How To:

• I started by cutting the M is for Monkey and A is for Alligator at 5 inches 
• I attached them to the background paper 
• I then cut my pictures down and cut some patterned paper to put behind them to help make the pop out. 
• I also found a cute sticker to put on my monkey page from my sticker stash

I also cut out a Z is for Zebra, but then realized that none of my zebra pictures were printed! Here is what that looks like for when I do get them printed!

Theme Day Thursday - Fall!

Hi everyone!!! Today I am participating (and actually picked the theme!) in Theme Day Thursday over on My Cricut Craft Room! Fall is my favorite time of year. I just love the colors, and the change in weather. I also got married in the fall (my hubby and I will be celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary on October 21st!) so that I could incorporate all the beautiful fall colors and flowers into my wedding. :)

Today's card is a very cute fall card. I am not quite sure who I am going to send this to, but I am sure that I will find a lucky recipient!

Items Used:

• 7 x 5 card base in craft paper color 
• Coordinating patterned paper from stash 
• Cheerful Seasons
• Green, yellow, red and brown cardstock 
• adhesive
• action wobble 
• acorn stickers from stash 
• PBD sentiment stamps for front of card as well as inside (Simply Everything and Bountiful Blessings)
• Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black
• Tim Holtz distressing ink
• corner rounder 

How to:

• I started by cutting out the wheelbarrow layers at 3 inches from the Cheerful Seasons cartridge. 
• Once all layers were cut out, I assembled together and set aside. 
• I picked out background patterned paper and cut it down to: 4 6/8 x 6 6/8 for the mulit-colored paper and 7 x 2 for the orange paper. I cut another 7 x 2 piece of orange patterned paper for the inside of the card as well. 
• I then used my corner rounder to round all the corners of the card base, as well as the corners of the patterned paper before attaching. This is also when I distressed the edges with my Tim Holtz distressing ink.
• I used ATG adhesive to attache the patterned paper and a Action Wobble to attach the wheelbarrow. 
• I then stamped the sentiments on the front and inside of the card. 
• At this point I thought my card was done, but as I was looking at it I realized that it needed something else, so back to my stash of embellishments I went and found the cute shiny acorn stickers! I added 2 of them and think they do a great job finishing off the card!

Let's Monkey Around

Hi Everyone! Welcome to Card Creating Tuesday (CCT) with My Cricut Craft Room! I love CCT since I make a ton of cards!

Today's card is for my Chemo Angels patient younger brother. When assigned to a child they ask that as an angel we occasionally send something to the patients siblings if they have any since they can tend to feel left out or forgotten about when their sibling is undergoing treatment.  So last week I sent a nice big box to him and his siblings with some presents as well as some cards!

Items used:

• A2 size card base in craft paper color
• Orange, green and red polka-dot patterned paper 
• PBD sentiment stamps for front and inside of card 
• twine 
• Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge 
• 3D Foam adhesive
• ATG adhesive 
• Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black 

How To:

• I started by cutting the monkey from Create a Critter cartridge at 2.5 inches. When the 2 layers were cut out, I attached them together with adhesive. I took the "face" piece that was cut out of the darker brown and traced it on black paper and then hand cut this to attach on the back so that the eyes, nose and mouth area would appear black. 
• I then pulled out my polka-dot paper (that is new!!) and cut down the paper to be layered on the card. They are cut at: 
• Green 5 2/8 x 3 6/8 
• Orange 2 x 3 6/8 
• Red 1 1/2 x  5 2/8
• I attached the patterned paper with ATG adhesive and then took some twine and twisted 2 different colors together and wrapped it around the card to "hang" the monkey from. I made sure to allow the twine to be loose so that it looks like the monkey is swinging from it. 
• I attached the monkey with 2 3D foam adhesive pieces and used a pop-dot to attach the monkey's hand to the twine. 
• I then stamped the front of the card with a sentiment from PBD Jungle Fever as well as the inside of the card.

Get Well Soon

Since I am a little under the weather with my broken ankle and not able to get around very easy, my crafting time has been limited. I have made it into my craft room 2 times since Friday night but was not able to last very long due to my leg hurting me. I did however get a cute card made to have available when a friend isn't feeling very well.

Items used:

• A2 card base
• brown card stock from stash
• patterned adhesive cardstock from stash
• Martha Stewart border punch
• ribbon
• Scalloped circle and regular circle from stash (originally cut from B is for Boy)
• Adhesive
• 3D foam square
• Sentiment stamp from PBD Spring has Sprung      
• Brown color box chalk ink for distressing 
• flower embossing folder

How To:

• Cut brown cardstock down and embossed it with a flower pattern embossing folder
• punched border on patterned paper and cut to fit on card base with brown cardstock. I also inked the edges to give the paper some dimension. 
• To hide the seam of where the two papers came together I ran a piece of ribbon along them and secured to the back of the cardstock.
• I then attached the carstock/patterned paper/ribbon to the card base using ATG adhesive.
• I then pulled out the scalloped circle and regular circle punches left over from a previous project and inked the edges of the scalloped one. I then stamped it with the sentiment stamp and attached it to the card with a 3D foam square. 
• I left the inside blank so that I can write a personal note to the recipient.

I have entered this card into Challenge # 8 on Pink By Design's community which is a challenge to make a "get well card."

Back to School

This past weeks Chemo Angel card is very fitting for this time of year...... Back to School time! Since my patient is undergoing treatment, he will be home schooled. I figured a little school cheer would do him some good. :)

Items used:

• Card base 
• "lined" cardstock
• Green, yellow, red and blue cardstock
• Celebrate with Flourish Cricut cartridge
• adhesive

How To:

• I started by cutting down the lined cardstock to fit the front of my card base and attaching it
• Next I cut the "back to school" sentiment from Celebrate with Flourish cartridge at 3 inches 
• After all layers were cut, I assembled using adhesive.
• Once my sentiment was completely put together, I attached it to the front of the card. 
• I left the inside of the card blank so that I would have lots of room to write a note.

Festive Friday!

Hi everyone!! Today is Festive Friday over at My Cricut Craft Room, and I signed up to make a project for today! At first I was kind of not sure what to make being that Christmas feels like it is so far away (when in reality it isn't...only 4 months and 6 days!) So after pulling out some Christmas paper, and a cricut cartridge, the ideas just started to flow!

Items used:

• Jolly Holidays Cricut Cartridge
• Patterned paper for card base 
• White, Black, Green and Red cardstock
• Silver Stickles
• ATG Adhesive
• Zig Adhesive 
• Action Wobble 
• Ribbon
• PBD sentiment stamp 
• Memento Ink

How To:

• I started by cutting my card base from the patterned paper. Before scoring the paper, it measures 6 x 12. After scored, the card measures 6 x 6.
• Next I cut the snowman and layers at 4 inches
• The "Happy Holidays" is cut at 2 inches as well as the layers
• After attaching all layers together using Zig adhesive, I attached the "Happy Holidays" to the bottom right corner of the card. I used an action wobble to attach the snowman. I then added the stickles to the saying to give it a little more color and sparkle.
• For the inside, I cut the tag from the same cartridge as the other cuts, and attached to the card with ATG adhesive. I stamped it with a sentiment from Pink by Design. 

Mommy to be

My card today is for a good friend who is expecting her first baby! I just happened to receive my Everyday pop-up card cartridge and wanted to put it to good use!

Items used:

• Everyday pop-up cards cartridge 
• Purple, peach, cream, brown, light green, yellow cardstock
• stickles
• ribbon
• adhesive
• 3d Foam adhesive 
• PBD stamps
• Memento Ink 

How to:

• I started by cutting the card base at 6 inches, and then creased on the fold line with the help of my bond folder
• I then cut the pregnant lady and her layers at 4.5 inches and attached them together using Zig glue.
• I then cut the pop-up sentiment for the inside of the card. This was cut at 6 inches (with the pop-up features, the cricut includes the tabs as part of the measurement) Because the cricut measures including the tabs, it makes cutting the layers a little harder. I had to cut them multiple times in order to get some that would match up. I can't remember if it was the ones cut at 3 or 3.5 inches that ended up working. I do know that if you have a gipsy, you can put the layers over the cutout and size then that way. I however don't have a gipsy, so I couldn't do this. 
• After all my pieces were cut out and layered, I added some stickles to the letters that were green to make them sparkle!
• Once the stickles had dried, I folded the pop-up tabs and added some adhesive. I then stuck the bottom tabs first. When attaching the top tabs.I folded the card to see how far up the top middle tab needed to be in order to not fold the pop-up in a weird area.
• I then added the sentiment stamps to the front and inside of the card, as well as adding the ribbon, I made a slit in the fold of the card to run the ribbon through. To cover up where the ribbon came together, I added the knot.

Robot card

Hi everyone! Hope this Monday is treating you well! This past weeks Chemo Angel card was really fun for me to make. I just got in a Robot's party cartridge and am going to have fun making stuff with it! I decided to make a quick card to send to my patient. :)

Items used:

• DCWV card base 
• Robots party cricut cartridge 
• 3D Foam adhesive 
• Zig glue 
• cuttlebug and embossing folder
• dark blue and light blue cardstock
• PBD stamps
• Memento Ink 

How to:

• I cut out the robot and layers at 3.5 inches. 
• Before attaching the layers to the base of the robot, I put the body layer through my cuttlebug in a dot folder.
• I then attached each layer with zig glue. 
• I attached the robot to the card base using the 3D foam squares. 
• Once everything was attached, I added the sentiment stamps to the front and inside of the card using Memento ink.

Happy Birthday Cupcake!

My youngest sisters birthday is coming up here in a few weeks, so it was time to sit down and make her a card. :) I wanted it to be something fun as she is turning 12, and figured she would love this one! Today is also Card Creating Tuesday over on My Cricut Craft Room, so to see more cards, head on over there!

Items used:

• Blue, green, white and yellow cardstock
• Wild Card Cricut Cartridge
• Peachy Keen face stamp from Everyday Character Face Assortment (PK-490)
• Adhesive
• Black gel pen
• PBD Sentiment stamps 
• Memento ink
• blush 
• Blue marker 

How to:

• Cut card at 8inches from Wild Card Cartridge 
• Cut layers all at 8 inches
• Cut the "flame" off of yellow candle and attached it to the green candle
• Attached layers to base starting with the bottom of the cupcake, then the candle and last the white top later.
• I then stamped the face and colored in the eyes as well as applied the blush to the cheeks.
• Next came the sentiment stamps, both on the front of the card, as well as inside the card. 
• I then dressed up the front by making some stitch marks with my black gel pen.

Happy Birthday Blog Hop!

Hi and welcome to my Birthday Blog hop! This is the start of the hop that includes 12 wonderful blogs on the hop (there are 2 that are only able to participate on Sunday - so make sure to come back if you are hoping on Saturday!). I hope you enjoy hopping along and enjoy all the projects that everyone has come up with!

The theme for today's hop is Birthday! I will be celebrating my 27th birthday on August 3rd and can't think of a better way to celebrate it with all of you! Everyone on the hop has made any project that makes them think "Birthday".


For my project, I have created some party decorations! I made a "Happy Birthday" banner, invitations and topped it all off with some matching cupcake toppers and a card! I hope you enjoy!

Items used for the banner:

• Birthday Bash cricut cartridge 
• Blast off Imagine cartridge
• Scalloped 2 inch circle punch
• 3D Foam adhesive squares 
• Twine
• Stickers from my stash
• Striped paper from DCWV Stack 7

I started by cutting out the banner triangles using both the Birthday Bash cartridge and the blast off cartridge to make them the orange background color. These were cut at 3.5 inches.

After cutting out all the banner triangles, I tied them together using 4.5 inch pieces of twine. Once all the banner pieces were attached together, I punched the scalloped circles and attached the letters (stickers) and then attached the scalloped circles to the banner with 3D foam squares.

Next up was the invitations:

Items used for Invitaion:

• Birthday Bash cricut cartridge
• Blast Off Imagine cartridge
• Memonto Ink
• Bo Bunny stamp set
• Twine

I started by cutting the triangles that matched the banner at 5 inches using the same cartridges as before. Once they were cut out, I lined up my stamps to fit the scalloped sides of the invitation and stamped them using Memonto ink. I then added the twine bow to give the invitation a little pop of color.

Then came the cupcake toppers:

• Scalloped 2 inch punch
• Memonto ink
• Happy Birthday stamp from PBD "Birthday Birthday" set
• toothpick
• adhesive
• DCWV striped paper from Stack 7 
• Left over paper from triangles 

I used left over striped paper and triangle paper to punch scalloped circles. Once they were punched out, I added the "Happy Birthday" sentiment. I then used some adhesive to attach a toothpick to the back of the punch.

Last is the card:

Items used for card:

• Birthday Bash cartridge 
• Scalloped 5 inch card base
• scalloped circle cut at 4.5 inches
• Scalloped 2 inch punch
• Extra banner triangle
• Sentiment stamps (both from PBD)
• 3D foam squares
• ATG adhesive
• Brads

For the card, I started by using a scalloped card base that I had in my stash. I then cut a scalloped circle at 4.5 inches from the Birthday Bash cartridge and attached it to the front of the card base using my ATG gun.  Next came attaching the banner triangle and scalloped punch with the "Happy Birthday" sentiment. The banner was attached using 2 brads through the striped paper (now that I am typing this out, I did this before attaching the scalloped circle to the card base.) I then used a 3D square to attache the 2 inch scalloped punch to the triangle. Before adding this, I stamped it with the sentiment using Memonto ink and inked the edges.

Once the front of the card was all done, I added the sentiment to the inside of the card!

Hey Cowboy!

This weeks Chemo Angle card was just so fun to make! I was trying to come up with a fun card for this week, and am really happy with how it turned out! I got my inspiration when I was cleaning up my messy craft area and was putting some paper stacks away. I started flipping through some patterned paper and when I came across the western themed paper the ideas just started popping up in my head of what I could make! I hope you enjoy!

Items used:

• DCWV patterned paper from All About Boys Stack used for card base
• Paper doll dress up cricut cartridge
• Tan, brown, red, black, blue and light yellow cardstock (from stash)
• Twine
• 2 inch square punch
• Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink
• Peachy Keen 3/4 inch Wide Eyes Kids Face stamp set
• Pink By Design Sentiment from "Spring has Sprung" set 
• Memento Ink
• ATG adhesive
• 3D foam square adhesive
• White gel pen

Like I said before, my inspiration came from the DCWV cardstock that I used for the card base. The base is a 12 x 6 piece of paper scored at the 6 inch mark to make it a 6 x 6 folded card. I cut out the "cowboy" and all layers at 5 inches and attached them all with my ATG gun. I added some accents to the clothing layers and hat by using my white gel pen to trace the detail cuts on each layer. I added some twine as a "rope" for my cowboy! I also stamped the face onto the cowboy using a 3/4 inch face stamp from Peachy Keen Stamps Wide eye kids face stamp set and memento ink. I used the 3D foam squares to attach the cowboy to the cardbase. I then used my square punch and some blue cardstock to make a tag to hand write "Hey Cowboy!" before attaching it, I inked the edges with my distressing ink, and attached it with a 3D foam square as well.

On the inside of the card, it is stamped with a sentiment stamp from the Spring has Sprung stamp set by Pink by Design!
