Card creating Tuesday - card with a window

Welcome to Card Creating Tuesday! Today we were challenged to make a card that has a window in it. I knew right away the perfect cartridge to pull out and that is Art Philosophy as it has so many card bases that have windows in them! After flipping through the entire cartridge book, I finally settled on this card! 

 

• Card is cut out at 5 inches (I was able to cut 2 at this size from a 8.5 x 11 inch piece of paper) 
• I took the negative stockings that were cut out to make the windows, and put them through my sticker maker and then covered the adhesive with glitter. I then put them back through my sticker maker to make the back of the stockings adhesive and placed them on the inside of the card so that they show show through the window. 
• To add some more color to the front, I added a ribbon around the front and then stamped both the front and inside of the card with sentiment stamps from Pink by Design's Christmas Wishes set.

100 Cartridge Blog Hop - Day One!

For my projects today, I have used the cartridges Christmas Cards, Cheerful Seasons, and Celebrate with Flourish! 

My first project is a very cute custom baby shower invitation that I made for a customer. I used Celebrate with Flourish and an the Imagine cartridge Hopscotch to print the cloud paper. 

• I printed out the cloud paper on a 12 x 12 piece of white card stock. I then cut that down into 4 x 5 invitations. 
• The umbrella us cut from Celebrate with Flourish at 2 inches and attached to the invite using pop-dots
• The invite is stamped with some sentiments from Pink by Design 
• Before attaching the umbrella, I ran the invites through my printer to print the invitation information on the back side (not show due to personal information printed)

My second project is a Christmas card from Christmas Cards. 

• I cut everything for this card (including the base) at 4 inches. 
• I added the crystals from my stash to help add some bling
• The sentiment on the inside is from Pink By Design's Christmas Wishes stamp set

My third project is from Cheerful Seasons. 

• A2 card base 
• I cut the pumpkin out from Cheerful seasons at 4 inches 
• I cut the patterned paper for the front of the card base to 5 3/8 x 3 7/8 and wrapped the ribbon around it before securing it to the card base. The paper is from The Paper Studio's All Seasons II stack.
• The pumpkin is attached to the card base using ATG adhesive.
• The sentiment stamp is from a Fall themed stamp set from Pink by Design, as is the inside sentiment. 
• The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby's Harvest crafts ribbon line.

Pink by Design Anniversary Challange #13!

Today's final challenge was to make a card using this sketch...along with using something that you find in your junk drawer, purse, cup holder etc...just not something from your craft room. I went searching and found some paperclips!

 

 Here is my take on the sketch! 

• The card base is 6 1/4 x 5 1/2
• The green layer is 6 x 1.5
• The red layer is 6 1/4 x 2 1/2 
• The squares are from a punch
• Stamps are from Beary Merry Christmas 
• The paper clips are my "junk drawer" items

Pink by Design Anniversary Challenge # 8!

Challenge #8 is to use ribbons or bows. The examples shown were to tie it in a bow, make a flower with it, scrunch it up or do something completely different. I choose to do something completely different....I choose to use only ribbon to decorate the front of my card!

I used a piece of red card stock cut to 5 3/8 x 3 7/8 and 3 pieces of ribbon all cut at about 6 inches. I ran my ribbon through my sticker maker to make them completely adhesive on the backside. I then wrapped them around my card stock and attached that to my card base.

On the inside I used a sentiment stamp from the Christmas Wishes PBD stamp set and used Lady Bug Red from Memento.

Pink by Design Anniversary Challenge # 3

The third challenge was to make a project using embossing. It could be either wet or dry embossing. Since I have been on a Christmas kick, I decided to keep with that and make another Christmas Card. For this card, I used a cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder and the Pink by Design Christmas Wishes stamp set.

I started by cutting my solid card stock to 5 3/8 x 3 7/8 and embossing it with my cuttlebug. Next I trimmed the patterned paper to 2 x 3 7/8 and attached it to the embossed card stock. Before attaching these to the card base, I attached the ribbon to hid the seam and tucked the ends of the ribbon behind the card stock. For the inside I used Memento Lady Bug Red ink to stamp my sentiment stamp.

Card Sketch Tuesday!

My card today is using the card sketch challenge. This is what the sketch looks like....

And this is my take on the card! 

Items used:

• A2 card base with corners rounded 
• 2 patterned cardstock papers
• solid green cardstock
• ATG and pop dots 
• twine 
• memento ink
• letter stamps 
• Cricut Birthday Bash cartridge 

How to:

• I trimmed the corners of my A2 card base using a corner punch.
• I then cut the patterned card stock down to size and rounded the corners on both layers. 
• Next I cut the banner pendants at 1 inch from the Birthday Bash cartridge and strung them on some red and white twine. 
• I stamped them with the letter stamps, and then stamped the patterned paper. 
• I attached the patterned paper to the card base using the ATG adhesive and tucked the ends of the twine between the card base and the patterned paper. The banner pieces are held in place using pop dots.

I have used Celebrate with flourish, Cheerful Seasons and Live Simply in my projects today. 

My first project is from Celebrate with flourish, and is a fathers day card I made for my 3 year old son to give to my husband. 

•  I cut out the #1 dad tag at 4 inches and layered it all together using my sticker maker. The card base is from a Recollections card base $1 pack from Michael's. 
• I added the patterned card stock to the front by tracing the card base and hand cutting the paper. 
• I then used a hole punch to punch out the circle that was already in the card base. 
• The sentiment stamp is from the "Fathers Day" Pink by Design set

My second project is a very cute card using a cute cut from Live Simply!

• I cut the toad/frog out at 3 inches and used my sticker maker to make each layer adhesive. 
• He is attached to the front of the card base using some foam pop-dots 
• The inside is stamped with a very cute sentiment from Pink by Design's "Go Green" stamp set.

My last project for you today is a fun Christmas card using a cut from Cheerful Seasons! I know you are all thinking it is early to be thinking about Christmas as it is only July, but it will be here before we know it! I am also going to be participating in my very first craft show in November, so I am busy working away on making a bunch of cards to have as inventory for that show!

• I cut the sleigh out at 2 inches and attached it to my card base using foam pop-dots
• The tag is from a die and stamp are from the set "Goodie Labels" from Pink by Design 
• The snowflake is from PBD's "snowflakes" stamp set 
• The sentiment on the inside of the card is also from PBD set "Christmas Wishes" 
• I added the twine bow to the top of the label, and used silver stickles for the bling on the sleigh. 
• The ink used on this card is: Lady bug, Cottage Ivy and Tuxedo Black from Memento and Silver by Color box

Happy Holiday's Christmas Card

Hi Everyone! Welcome to Card Creating Tuesday hosted by Erica at My Cricut Craft Room. If you would like to see more cards, head on over to Erica's blog to see what the other design team members have created for you!

My card today is a very easy, and cute Christmas card that I made to give to the child care workers at my MOPS meeting.

Items used:

• A7 Card base
• Patterned paper 
• ribbon 
• White, green, and red card stock
• pop-dots
• ATG adhesive
• Memento ink
• PBD sentiment stamps
• Jolly Holiday's cricut cartridge 
• xyron sticker maker
• twine
• Label die - from PBD

How To:

• I started by cutting the patterned paper down to fit the front of the card base. I attached it with ATG adhesive
• I cut the snowmen out at 3 inches and attached the layers together using my xryon sticker maker
• Because the arms for the snowmen cut out so small for this size cut, I just used a black gel pen to draw the arms onto the snowman. 
• I added the ribbon to the bottom of the card to add a little pop of color, and used ATG to adhere it to the card base
• I attached the snowmen with pop-dots 
• I also used the label die from PBD to cut out the tags for the front and used a PBD stamp for the sentiment for both the tag and the inside. The tag is also attached with pop-dots. The tag is finished off with a little bow made with twine.

Festive Friday!

My project today is a Christmas card to add to my Christmas card stash. Christmas is fast approaching, and I have a big list of friends and family to send cards to so I am trying to get a head start on my cards!

Items used:

• A2 card base 
• patterned paper 
• ribbon
• Christmas Card cricut cartridge
• Red, white, and black cardstock
• pop-dots
• adhesive
• memento ink
• PBD sentiment stamp 

How to:

• I started by cutting my patterned paper down and inking the edges. To hide the seam of the two patterned pages, I added some festive ribbon.
• The snowman is cut from Christmas Cards at 3 inches and attached to the card with a pop-dot
• The inside is stamped with a PBD sentiment stamp using memento ink.

October 100 Cartridge Blog Hop

Hi everyone and welcome to the October 100 Cartridge Blog Hop! If you have just come across my blog and would like to start at the beginning, please go to My Cricut Craft Room to start the hop. If you have arrived from Audrey, then you are in the right place. :)

Today I have used 7 cartridge incorporated in my projects to share with you! I started with 5, but as I was putting my projects together realized that I needed some accent cuts that were not available on the cartridges that I had already used.

My first project is this cute pumpkin card! 

• It is from Wild Card (pg 68) and cut at 4.5 inches. 
• To get the pumpkin layer for this card, I actually had to cut the card out in black (the base) and again in orange to get the layer.
• For the inside, I tried embossing the stamp and am not loving the outcome...however I am not going to give up, I just need to practice more! 

 My second project is this really cute list:

• I started by cutting out the "Giving Thanks" from Celebrate with Flourish at 3 inches. I had originally thought that this would go on a layout, but once I was putting my cutouts on my layouts, I just didn't like how it was looking, so I put it aside and was working on my other projects with this idea popped into my head! 
• The pumpkins are cut at 2.5 inches and are from Speaking of Fall (pg 11)
• The numbers are cut at 3/4 inch and are from Cuttin' Up
• The brown background is a A7 card base
• The lined paper is cut to 8 inches x 6 3/4

My third project is a 2 page layout using cuts from Cheerful Seasons.

• "Fall" is cut at 3 inches and "Family" is cut at 2 inches (both from pg 51)
• The background paper behind "fall" is cut from Christmas Cards at 5 1/4 inches
• The background paper behind "family" is cut at 8 3/4 x 2.5 inches and I used a decorative corner punch on the corners. 

My forth project is another 2 page layout!

• The mummy, ghost, alien, and skeleton are all cut at 3 inches and are from Paper Doll Dress Up (pg 49) 
• They are attached to the layout with pop-dots
• On the skeleton, I traced the "bone" cuts with a white gel pen to make them stand out.
