Pink by Design Anniversary Challange #13!

Today's final challenge was to make a card using this sketch...along with using something that you find in your junk drawer, purse, cup holder etc...just not something from your craft room. I went searching and found some paperclips!

 

 Here is my take on the sketch! 

• The card base is 6 1/4 x 5 1/2
• The green layer is 6 x 1.5
• The red layer is 6 1/4 x 2 1/2 
• The squares are from a punch
• Stamps are from Beary Merry Christmas 
• The paper clips are my "junk drawer" items

Pink by Design Anniversary Challenge #12!

We have made it to Challenge #12! For this challenge, you had to find something in your house that inspired you and make a project to reflect that! I knew right away that I would use my son Jacob as my inspiration. When I think of him the first thing that comes to my mind is he is a monkey! So here is my take on Challenge #12!

• A2 Card base
• Monkey cut from Birthday Bash at 3.5 inches and attached to the card base with pop-dots
• Inside sentiment stamp is from Jungle Fever stamp set from Pink by Design.

Pink by Design Anniversary Challenge #11!

Challenge #11 is to make a single layer card. When you think about it, this can be quite the challenge, as most of us are used to layering different papers and embellishments onto our cards. This means that this card needs to be full of different stamps to keep it all one layer. :)

• A7 card base 
• I started by using my Puzzled background stamp to stamp around the edges of my card base using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
• Next I used Memento Tangelo ink and the Orange stamp from Orange you Awesome stamp set. I also used one of the face stamps from this set with the tuxedo black ink. 
• Last I stamped the sentiment from the Orange you awesome set in the corner.

Pink by Design Anniversary Challenge #10

Challenge #10 is to make a project using an animal. Having just used the Jungle fever stamp set on my last challenge, I had lots of great ideas for animal projects!

• I cut the elephant from the Cricut cartridge Birthday Bash at 3 inches. 
• Patterned paper is cut to 5 3/8 x 3 7/8 to fit the front of the A2 card base. 
• The elephant is attached using pop-dots 
• The inside is stamped with a sentiment from PBD Jungle Fever stamp set.

Pink by Design Anniversary Challenge #9!

The 9th PBD challenge is to make a project with Buttons! I love adding buttons to projects, as they can add color, texture, and just help jazz up a project. Here is my card using buttons!

• A2 DCWV card base 
• buttons from stash
• Goody label die 
• Sentiment stamp from Jungle Fever PBD set
• Glue dots to adhere buttons

Pink by Design Anniversary Challenge # 8!

Challenge #8 is to use ribbons or bows. The examples shown were to tie it in a bow, make a flower with it, scrunch it up or do something completely different. I choose to do something completely different....I choose to use only ribbon to decorate the front of my card!

I used a piece of red card stock cut to 5 3/8 x 3 7/8 and 3 pieces of ribbon all cut at about 6 inches. I ran my ribbon through my sticker maker to make them completely adhesive on the backside. I then wrapped them around my card stock and attached that to my card base.

On the inside I used a sentiment stamp from the Christmas Wishes PBD stamp set and used Lady Bug Red from Memento.

Pink by Design Anniversary Challenge # 7!

I found the post for challenge #7!! Challenge #7 is to make a project that has a tag on it. Pretty simple as tags are so easy to add to a project. Here is my card using a tag.

• Patterned paper cut to 3 7/8 x 5 3/8 and attached using ATG
• Tag is a scalloped punch 
• Stamps on tag is from PBD Labels stamp set 
• Tag is tied to the card base using twine. 
• The inside sentiment stamp is from PBD Rain or Shine stamp set. 

Pink by Design Anniversary Challenge #6!

The 6th challenge is a sketch challenge! I love sketches as they automatically give me a place to start. What I loved about this sketch, is you can easily use it as a layout or a card. Because I love cards so much that is what I used it for. :)

And here is my take on it: 

I used sold black textured card stock for the bottom piece and a Martha Stewart border punch. The pink zebra paper is cut at 7 x 3 and attached with ATG. The squares that the shoes are stamped on are 2 x 2 squares that have had their corners rounded. The ribbon is from The Paper Studio. All the stamps on this card are from the Designer Boots February stamp of the month set by Pink by Design. 

Pink by Design Anniversary challenge # 5!

The 5th challenge is to make a card or layout using the OMBRE technique. This is where you have colors that go from lightest to darkest. Here is my take on the challenge!

I started by cutting down my patterned paper to 5 3/8 x 3 7/ 8. I took my twine and laid it out from lightest to darkest and wrapped it around my paper. In the center I brought it together and attached it using a glue dot. I then made 3 circles using glue dots along the top of my card, and used 2 colors on each ones to make them look like lollypops. I used my pink twine to make the sticks for my lollypops. After securing all the twine to the back of the patterned paper, I attached it to my card base.

Next I stamped the banner and hand cut it from the same patterned paper that is used for the base. The banner comes from Everyday Banners, and the Have a Sweet Day stamp comes from Say it Sweet. When applying my ink for the have a sweet day, I used Memento inks Bahama Blue and Danube Blue to continue with the Ombre challenge.

For the inside of my card, I stamped it with a Happy Birthday stamp from the Birthday Birthday stamp set.

Pink by Design Anniversary Challenge # 4!

The 4th challenge today was to make a project using a silhouette shape in it. I have never done a silhouette project, so had to really sit down and think about it to find something that would work as a silhouette. I quickly decided that I wanted to make a card for an upcoming wedding that we will be attending. 

I started by cutting out my dress from the Cricut cartridge Everyday pop-up cards at 4 inches. I then picked out some pretty patterned paper to place behind it and cut a black border to also go around the card. I attached the dress silhouette to the card base using pop-dots. I also stamped and cut out the banner piece from Pink by Design's Everyday Banners stamp set and stamped it with the Mr & Mrs. stamp also from the banner set. 


For the inside of the card, I used the "Congratulations" stamp from Pink by Design's Scripted Year stamp set.

Pink by Design Anniversary Challenge # 3

The third challenge was to make a project using embossing. It could be either wet or dry embossing. Since I have been on a Christmas kick, I decided to keep with that and make another Christmas Card. For this card, I used a cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder and the Pink by Design Christmas Wishes stamp set.

I started by cutting my solid card stock to 5 3/8 x 3 7/8 and embossing it with my cuttlebug. Next I trimmed the patterned paper to 2 x 3 7/8 and attached it to the embossed card stock. Before attaching these to the card base, I attached the ribbon to hid the seam and tucked the ends of the ribbon behind the card stock. For the inside I used Memento Lady Bug Red ink to stamp my sentiment stamp.

Pink by Design Anniversary Challenge # 2

The second challenge was to make something for your favorite holiday. For me that is Christmas! For my project I used the brand new Christmas Tags Pink by Design stamp set and made up a set of 4 Christmas tags.

I started by stamped the Christmas tag onto some patterned paper, and then cutting the tags out by hand. Next I used a hole punch to punch out the little hole to run ribbon or twine through if wanted. The final step was to stamp the To and From onto the tags.

Pink by Design Anniversary Challenge #1

Hi everyone! Today is Pink by Design's 2nd anniversary! They are having lots of challenges today, and if you complete each one and link up your project you automatically win stamps!!! They also have a huge list of prizes that will be awarded to the winner of each challenge.

The first challenge was to make a home decor project using PBD stamps. I don't make a lot of home decor, but thought of this project right away! I started with a Bo-Bunny display board kit that I won at a crop earlier this year, and the creativity just kept on coming!

The board is 12 x 12 and each square is 4 x 4. I used stamps from Big Thoughts and This is life.

Ink it Pink! Contest

Hi Everyone! Over on the Pink By Design blog they are hosting a Ink it Pink! contest. This weeks challenge is to use words as a background. :) I had a lot of fun picking out what stamps I was going to use for the background, and this is what I came up with!

I used stamps from Pink By Design Enjoy the Journey to make the background, and Breast Wishes for the tag and inside of the card.

Stamps only card......and blog hop winners!

Hi everyone!! I am excited to share with you my first project for Queen of my Craftroom's design team!! This week Michelle's challenge is to make a stamped card without using a Cricut. I have made a birthday card for one of my 4 nieces who all have birthday's in February!

Items used:

• DCWV card base
• Small scalloped punch
• Peachy Keen stamps 
• Pink by design happy birthday stamp
• Memento ink
• pop-dots 
• white gel pen

How to:

• This card was so simple to make, and I just love how it turned out! I started by punching the 4 scalloped circles and adding the faces with my Peachy Keen stamps! 
• I then added the white stitching to the edges, then attached them to the card base with a pop-dot. 
• Last, I added a happy Birthday sentiment to the inside of the card.

Get Well Soon

Since I am a little under the weather with my broken ankle and not able to get around very easy, my crafting time has been limited. I have made it into my craft room 2 times since Friday night but was not able to last very long due to my leg hurting me. I did however get a cute card made to have available when a friend isn't feeling very well.

Items used:

• A2 card base
• brown card stock from stash
• patterned adhesive cardstock from stash
• Martha Stewart border punch
• ribbon
• Scalloped circle and regular circle from stash (originally cut from B is for Boy)
• Adhesive
• 3D foam square
• Sentiment stamp from PBD Spring has Sprung      
• Brown color box chalk ink for distressing 
• flower embossing folder

How To:

• Cut brown cardstock down and embossed it with a flower pattern embossing folder
• punched border on patterned paper and cut to fit on card base with brown cardstock. I also inked the edges to give the paper some dimension. 
• To hide the seam of where the two papers came together I ran a piece of ribbon along them and secured to the back of the cardstock.
• I then attached the carstock/patterned paper/ribbon to the card base using ATG adhesive.
• I then pulled out the scalloped circle and regular circle punches left over from a previous project and inked the edges of the scalloped one. I then stamped it with the sentiment stamp and attached it to the card with a 3D foam square. 
• I left the inside blank so that I can write a personal note to the recipient.

I have entered this card into Challenge # 8 on Pink By Design's community which is a challenge to make a "get well card."
